These pages will be dedicated to all of the fishing that the rest of the Computer Geeks at the shipyard and I do in the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. The environment is definitely unnatural as our fishing is mostly done from our property. The backdrop is the huge 60 meter tall Goliath Crane and the Newest Shipyard in the United States currently being constructed.
The usual accomplices are:
Terry "Hey Jim..." Williams | Systems Administrator (Voice/Data), Chief Sadist |
Mark "Sensei" Christiansen | Desktop Support/Finance & HR Systems Analyst, IT Department Enforcer |
Michael "Big Mike" Humphreys | Production Systems Network Administrator, IT Department Heavy Lifter |
The normal mode of operation is that we take any where from 30 minutes to and hour out at various areas along the river on our facility to wet some line. The usual catch is Catfish and Eels but we have had some other notable ones. I got my first Blue Claw Crab while using a size 8 hook and beef spleen (It was legal too! 4.5"). Then in June we started catching eels and also Bass in some areas. But the primary thing we are always getting is CATFISH. Out current group record on site is a 21" Channel Cat. We catch Channel Cats and Bullhead Cats. Our usual bait is Chicken Liver and other "cheap" innards we can get from the local supermarket.
If you're ever on the Spirit of Philadelphia you may even see us fishing at the junction of the Schuylkill and the Delaware.
There'll be several pages in this area that are linked to existing images on my family site. Please be sure to let me know if you find any problems!
